Gray Rock
True Power in Humility
(v) To Gray Rock means to withhold from the psychopath, the achievement of his ultimate goal: your emotional reaction to his words and behavior, especially the expression on your face. The purpose of Gray Rocking is to create boredom for the psychopath so that they choose to find another source for their drama.
When dealing with any of the Cluster B personality disorders, it is a mistake to respond to an offense by retaliating. Even if you believe you’ve won, any reaction to the offense at all is a loss for you, but the greater the reaction the bigger the loss. This is because the victim’s emotional reaction was always the end goal for the psychopath. He wants to know that he affected you. Your response is the evidence.
Even an overwhelming and devastating blow to the psychopath is still a win for them because their intent was to create drama and have you participate willingly in it.
Psychopaths measure their success by the reaction of their victims. The victim’s facial expressions, especially, give the psychopath the rush of power they desire. Consistently withholding emotional expressions of any kind, drive the psychopath into a feeling of powerlessness and anxiety, which they perceive as boredom. They will do anything to escape from being bored. Without a victim to manipulate they have the overwhelming feeling that they don’t exist. Usually they will create more drama. But a consistent non-response will make the parasitical leach detach itself from the human host, to go look for someone who is more easily manipulated. Don’t be that someone.
